1. Collection of Personal Information

On this site ("Ylyuriy"), we may collect personal information such as your email address through the contact form (Google Forms), the email address, or the X (formerly Twitter) account listed on our contact page. This information is used only to respond to inquiries and to contact you when necessary.

2. How We Use Personal Information

Collected personal information is used for the following purposes:

• Responding to inquiries
• Contacting you at your request
• Important notices about site operations

3. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not disclose or provide personal information to third parties, except as required by law.

Note that sending information to the external services listed in the next section is done only to the extent necessary to render and operate the site, to understand how it is used, and to measure advertising performance.

4. Analytics and External Services

This site uses the external services listed below. What is sent, when it is sent, and why we use it are as follows. Information that directly identifies you, such as your name or email address, is never sent. User information needed to render the site, to analyse how it is used, and to measure advertising performance — such as your IP address, cookies, and browser and device information — is sent.

• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — when you view a page, the URL of that page, the referring link, your browser and device type, and your approximate location are sent. Cookies are used (see section 6). We use this to understand and improve how the site is used.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — continuously while you view a page, the URL of that page, interactions such as clicks and scrolling, the content displayed on the page, your browser and device type, connection information such as your IP address, and your approximate location are sent. Cookies are used (see section 6). We use this to see which parts of the site are used and where people get stuck, in the form of session replays and heatmaps. The contents of input fields, and the parts of the screen where what you enter is displayed (words, names, the draw results based on them, conversion results, and so on), are replaced with masking characters by Microsoft Clarity's masking feature and are not sent. For access from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Clarity is not loaded at all, so none of the above is sent (see section 6).
• Google consent management (CMP, Google LLC) — we have integrated this mechanism, but we do not currently show a consent notice, even in the regions where one would apply (see section 6). When a page is viewed, connection information such as your IP address is sent in order to determine whether a consent notice must be shown. Cookies (such as “FCCDCF” and “FCNEC”) are used to store that determination and your consent state (see section 6).
• A8.net (Fan Communications, Inc.) — for the affiliate advertising placed on Prefecture Roulette and City Roulette (available in Japanese only), when the ad is actually displayed after passing the simple check described in section 6, connection information such as your IP address is sent. This happens as the ad banner image and a measurement image (a 1×1 transparent image) load. If the check is not passed and the ad is not displayed, this sending does not happen. When you click the ad, a cookie for recording the click is set by A8.net's server as you are taken there. We use this to measure the ad's performance and to receive compensation.
• Google Fonts (Google LLC) — when you view a page, connection information such as your IP address is sent in order to deliver web fonts. No cookies are used. We use this to render the site.
• Google Forms (Google LLC) — the button on our contact page takes you to a form hosted by Google, and what you enter and submit there is sent to Google (nothing is sent by merely browsing this site). We use this to respond to your inquiry.
• X (formerly Twitter, X Corp.) — on the tools that have share buttons, only when you press one, you are taken to a share screen and the URL of that page along with the share text is sent. Nothing is sent unless you press the button.

Information sent to Google services is managed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can also disable data collection by Google Analytics using Google's opt-out add-on. Information sent to Microsoft Clarity is managed in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Information sent to A8.net is managed in accordance with Fan Communications, Inc.'s privacy statement (available in Japanese only). 5. Advertising

This site participates in the affiliate programme offered by A8.net, and places affiliate advertising for travel-related advertisers on Prefecture Roulette and City Roulette (available in Japanese only). Each such ad is marked as advertising with a “PR” label next to the banner. See section 4 for what is sent and when, and section 6 for how we decide whether to display it.

We do not currently use any third-party ad-serving service such as Google AdSense. We do not load any ad units or the ad-serving script (“adsbygoogle.js”), so no information is sent in order to serve or personalise advertising. The consent management platform (CMP) tag is loaded on every page, however, and its operation can cause requests to Google's advertising-related domains. The CMP is a separate mechanism from ad serving itself (see section 4 for details).

If we add or change the affiliate advertising we place, or introduce a third-party advertising service such as Google AdSense in the future, we will update this policy to state what is sent, how cookies are used, and how to opt out.

6. Managing Cookies and Consent Settings

You can refuse or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The only cookies used in connection with this site are for analytics, for recording your consent, and for measuring advertising performance, so the tools continue to work normally if you refuse them (your inputs and settings are saved in local storage, not cookies — see section 7).

This site uses a mechanism called Google Consent Mode v2, and for access from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland the use of cookies for analytics and advertising is denied by default. We do not currently show a consent notice in those regions, so that denied state continues. Meanwhile Google Analytics measures traffic in a cookieless form only, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all — none of the interaction data, page content, or IP information described in section 4 is sent, and cookies such as “_clck” and “_clsk” are not created.

For access from other regions, including Japan, we use the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity cookies described in section 4. The Clarity cookies identify visitors — cookies such as “_clck” and “_clsk” on this site's domain, and cookies such as “CLID” and “MUID” on Microsoft's domains.

You can delete the cookies stored on this site's own domain at any time from your browser settings. Cookies stored on Microsoft's domains (such as “CLID” and “MUID”) cannot be deleted from this site — please remove those from your browser settings as well.

In regions where a consent notice is shown, “Privacy settings” appears at the bottom of the page and lets you change or withdraw your consent at any time; on withdrawal, the Microsoft Clarity cookies on this site's own domain (such as “_clck” and “_clsk”) are deleted (sending from a tag that has already loaded does not fully stop until the next time you load a page). Because we do not currently show that notice, this button is not shown either.

The affiliate advertising placed on Prefecture Roulette and City Roulette is shown only after a simple check of your browser's time zone and language settings: it is displayed only when your time zone is set to “Asia/Tokyo” and at least one of your browser's preferred languages is Japanese. This check runs entirely in your browser and involves no outside communication. This check does not identify or guarantee where you live. It will show the ad to someone outside Japan whose time zone is set to “Asia/Tokyo”, and will not show it to someone in Japan whose time zone is set differently. See section 4 for what is sent when the ad is displayed. The cookie A8.net sets when you click the ad can also be refused or deleted at any time in your browser settings.

If we begin showing a consent notice, or introduce third-party advertising, the regions and purposes covered will change. We will update this policy to state the details at that point.

7. Local Storage

The tools on this site may use your browser's local storage so that your inputs and settings carry over the next time you use them (tools with nothing to carry over do not use it). What is stored is the words and names you entered, your draw history, and settings such as animation length and sound. We do not use any of it to identify you, but what you enter is stored as it is, so if you enter names, those names also remain on your own device. Some tools store the following in addition:

• Prefecture Roulette (available in Japanese only) — the conquest map (the prefectures you have drawn, accumulated on the map when "Keep drawn prefectures on the map" is turned on), and which types, regions, and prefectures you selected as draw targets.
• City Roulette (available in Japanese only) — which types, regions, prefectures, and municipalities you selected as draw targets, and which municipalities are currently excluded by "Exclude municipalities once drawn".
• Bingo Machine — the numbers drawn so far and your chosen upper limit.
• Team Shuffle — how you split people into teams (the number of teams or the size of each team), and the pairs you set to stay on the same team or on different teams.
• Gobi Roulette (available in Japanese only) — which genres you have excluded from the draw, and which endings you have unlocked in the tool's catalogue (recorded as you draw them).

This data is stored only on your own device (in your browser) and is never sent to us or to any external service. You can erase it at any time with the reset buttons in each tool ("Reset" and "Clear history", plus "Reset the map" in Prefecture Roulette, "Reset exclusions" in City Roulette, "Reset the catalogue" in Gobi Roulette, and "Clear all names" in Team Shuffle), or by clearing your browsing data in your browser. Items with no dedicated reset button, such as your selected draw targets, can be erased by clearing your browsing data. If local storage is unavailable in your browser settings, the tools still work as usual — your inputs and history simply do not carry over to your next visit.

So that you can keep using the tools where there is no connection, this site also stores the files needed to display its pages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, and so on) in your browser's cache (Cache Storage), using the Service Worker mechanism. Only files served by this site are stored; nothing you enter is included. This too is kept only on your own device and is never sent to us or to any external service. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browsing data in your browser.

8. Share Links for Draw Results

On the tools that have share buttons, the links those buttons create embed the result of the draw, together with the input it was based on (words, names, goals, and so on), in the part of the URL after the "#". For Prefecture Roulette, the share link also includes the conquest map (the prefectures marked on the map) accumulated at that point through "Keep drawn prefectures on the map". For City Roulette, the share link includes only the municipality that was drawn (it does not include any filter settings).

Because of how browsers work, everything after the "#" is never sent as part of the page request, so it never reaches our servers or appears in our access logs. That said, scripts running on the page can read the full URL, including the part after the "#", so it is also sent to the analytics service named in section 4 (Microsoft Clarity). For access from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all, so this does not happen (see section 6). Anyone who receives the link can see its contents. If you post a share link somewhere public such as social media, your input becomes visible to anyone, so please consider where you share it.

Opening a share link does not store any of its content in your browser, and it does not overwrite your own words, names, or draw history.

This site may contain links to external sites. Please note that we are not responsible for the handling of personal information on linked sites.

10. Requests Regarding Your Personal Information

If you ask us to disclose, correct, add to, delete, or stop using the personal information we hold about you, we will confirm your identity and respond appropriately in accordance with applicable law. Please send such requests via the contact page.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as needed. The latest version is always available on this page.

We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations, and we review this policy as needed.
